Pauline Opal Hanson
Pauline Opal Hanson
Cedar Rapids
On Wednesday April 19, 2023, Pauline gained her "Golden Slippers." She was blessed to be born and surrounded by a large family on May 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She grew up in Palo and lived in Cedar Rapids her whole adult life. In October 1968, she married David Hanson and was married for 19 years. She loved going to family gatherings that were filled with lots of music, dancing, laughter and love. Hearing about and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up brought her much joy. She enjoyed telling silly jokes and she had a hearty, infectious laugh. She loved long drives down memory lane and trips to the ice cream shop. Pauline will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jim) Holladay and Rebecca Wirfs; brother, Mike Fields; sisters, Lois Frisk, Louise (Lecile) Pierce, Carol (Bill) Rawson and Penny (Don) Zeller; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Sr. and Ruth (Kimbrough) Fields; and siblings, Doug Fields, Bonnie Miller, Shirley Lauterbach, Evelyn Weaver, Cheryl Hootman and George “Butch” Fields Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later day.
