Eugene Robert “Bob” Glass, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
Bob was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Allen and Esther (Jackson) Glass. After graduating from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids, Bob worked for the city of Cedar Rapids for 38 years, retiring as the water department manager.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Barfels of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Delaney Barfels (the totem pole) of Cedar Rapids; sister, Charmon (favorite brother-in-law, Larry) of Davenport; sister-in-law, Judy Glass of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Allen (Becky) Glass, Julie (Paul) Zastrow, David (Kate) Meyer, Sara (Tim) Fredricksen; great-nieces and
-nephews, Will and Mason Zastrow, Mika and Daniel Meyer, and Nora Fredricksen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Glass.
No services are planned at this time.
The family would like to especially thank all the many family friends, friends of Theatre Cedar Rapids and former colleagues from the city of Cedar Rapids for all the calls, prayers and visits during Bob’s last days.
Let the ketchup fights begin!
