Pamela D. “Pam” Wertz, 69, passed away on April 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Pam is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Charlie; her son, Ryan (Sara) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Gretchen (Brett) of Westerville, Ohio; brother, Mike (Rhonda) of Portal, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Callie, Maren and baby Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pam was born to Robert and Estelle Boley in August 1953, in Mount Pleasant Iowa. She grew up in Cedar Rapids, attended Washington Senior High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Iowa State University. She taught in the Cedar Rapids Community School District for approximately 12 years before retiring to raise her children. Pam and Charlie resided in Naples, Fla., for the past 10 years where Pam enjoyed any outdoor activity, but especially golf, tennis and riding her bike. And she never met a sunset into the Gulf of Mexico that she didn’t love.
