Trump indictment reaction shows GOP doesn’t represent all Iowans

The Iowa GOP delegation showed its poor judgment and inability once again to represent all Iowans. Kim Reynolds, Chuck Grassley, Joni Ernst and Ashley Hinson were all quoted in The Gazette following the indictment of Donald Trump by District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Their comments prove they have no understanding of the rule of law, little to no expertise in their elected positions and they continue to place their party before all of the constituents they represent.
The logical thing to do is let the judicial process play out rather than speculate what will happen. This process has worked in principle for every American over the last 200-plus years and it will work again in this case. Trump will have his day(s) in court and whether he is innocent or guilty, the judicial process will work as it should. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say a previous president cannot be tried for any crime nor did our Founding Fathers want any officeholder shielded from possible prosecution. If the Iowa GOP delegation is concerned about the politicization of the Department of Justice, where were they during the Trump presidency when he used it to; punish his critics, silence his enemies, protect his personal position many times plus during the impeachment proceedings he refused to release government documents and let potential witnesses testify?
Iowans elected the Iowa GOP leaders to their positions and as they say, you will reap what you sow.
