Madonna Marie “Donna” (Cote’) Martin, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness.
A memorial visitation will be held for Donna from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., in Vinton.
Donna was born on June 4, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Francis and Margaret (Christiansen) Cote'. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, with the class of 1959. On Nov. 10, 1994, she was united in marriage to Donald Joseph Martin in Vinton. Donald passed away in 2008. Donna spent most of her time being a Mom and taking care of anyone in need. She was “Mom” to many and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, painting and decorating her home. She volunteered at local organizations and donated to several as well.
Survivors include her daughter, Wendy (Dennis) Peters; four sons, Steven Polly, Shane Polly, Cameron (Felecia) Polly and Wilbur Peters II; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
In addition to her parents and husband Donald, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Lance R. Polly.
