Maxine Sauer, 95, passed away at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.
Maxine was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Vinton, the daughter of Guy and Cecil (Ferguson) Rollinson.
On Feb. 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles Sauer. Maxine and Charles farmed in the Vinton area until Charles’ death in 1978. Maxine was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Mary & Martha Circle.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Coughenour of Vinton, Phyllis Anderson of Vinton; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband Charles, Maxine was preceded in death by her stepfather, Norbert; brother, Arthur Rollinson; and her great-granddaughter.
