Lennis E. Mitts, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Dawn (Mike) Robinson of Palo and Marcus (Faith) Mitts of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Tristan, Jaxon, Kinnick, Aiden and Brylee; brothers, Larry (Nancy) Steggs of Alliance, Neb., Stephen Steggs of Alliance, Neb.; and Lonnie (Christine) Steggs of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Tammie (Troy) Dubs of Ashby, Neb.; sister-in-law, Susie Steggs of Parker, Colo.; and her furbabies, Mia, Dante andMoose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Steggs; and sister-in-law, Patricia Steggs.
Lennis Elaine Steggs was born Feb. 8, 1951, in Alliance, Neb., the daughter of Harold and Idelle (Dorshorst) Steggs. On Aug. 18, 1979, she married Charles Mitts in Clermont, Iowa. She graduated from the Nebraska School for the Deaf in 1969. She was on the board for the Cedar Rapids Association of the Deaf and was very active in the deaf community. Lennis will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
