Ila Mae Christensen, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away with her family by her side on March 20, 2023, at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, March 27, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Ila was born May 22, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of LeRoy and Daisy (Bowman) Jayne. She worked as an in-home daycare provider. Ila enjoyed trying her luck at the casino and above everything else, she loved her grandchildren. Ila will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Harry Dean (Brenda) Christensen, Kevin Christensen, Jan (Mike) Williams and Jackie (Kevin) Oujiri; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Russell) Walter; significant other of many years, Jack Lechty; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
