Darlas Reilly, 85, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on March 5, 2023, at Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Matthew Haan officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Keystone. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the funeral home.
Thankful to have shared her life, are her children, Christina Auman, Kathleen (Nick) Sienknecht, Steven (Deanna) Reilly, Timothy Reilly, Tracy Reilly, Nancy (Shawn) Estrem, Penney (Dave) Jenkins, Dianna (John) Boleyn and Holly (Matt) Haan; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and countless nieces and nephews.
Darlas Berdine was born Nov. 7, 1937, at home in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Otto and Elsie (Sankey) Eschen. On Sept. 28, 1957, she married Terrance Reilly. To their union they had nine children. Darlas worked as a cafeteria worker for over 20 years at Regis High School. Her life was her children. Darlas’ hobbies included playing cards, bingo, camping and canning homegrown vegetables. When possible, she’d enjoy a Pepsi or basking in the sunshine.
Darlas was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Louis (Shirley), Lee (Ina), Laverne and Junior (Joann); brothers-in-law, Hugh, Sam, Ron and Joe (Dixie); sisters-in-law, Connie Lotto, Colleen (Jerry) Steepleton and Sharon Wymore; and son-in-law, Mark Auman.
Memorials may be directed to Friendship Haven-Journeys Memory Unit.
