‘Anchorman’ star spent time at Deadwood Tavern while filming a new documentary

IOWA CITY -- Actor and comedian Will Ferrell made a surprise \stop at the Deadwood Tavern in downtown Iowa City on Wednesday.
The star of “Anchorman” and “Elf” is producing a documentary that he’s told fans is a “coast-to-coast road trip documentary.”
Before stopping in Iowa City, Farrell, 55, was spotted at an Indiana Pacers game, a Walmart parking lot in Beech Grove, Ind., and a karaoke bar in Peoria, Ill.
Social media erupted in Iowa City with fans surprised and excited to see the star of “Step Brothers” and “Talladega Nights” in person.
