Richard Childress to keynote 35th annual conference in Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS — The 35th annual Celebration of Agriculture will take place March 27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Convention Complex in downtown Cedar Rapids.
More than 700 people are expected to attend the celebration, one of the area’s largest agribusiness events that brings together farmers, industry experts and the community.
Richard Childress, chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, one of the most successful organizations in NASCAR, will keynote the event.
Childress also owns and operates the 15-acre Childress Vineyards in Lexington, N.C., and a Black Angus cattle ranch in Clemmons, N.C., which includes alfalfa, corn and soybean acres.
"We're thrilled to be hosting Richard Childress for the 35th annual Celebration of Agriculture," said Dwight Hughes, one of the celebration’s founding members.
The event, he said, “is an opportunity for us to showcase the role that agriculture plays in Iowa's economy and the significant contributions that farmers make to our state and country."
