Doris Marie (Strait) Allen, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at 5048 First Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Doris was born March 28, 1938, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Eleanor (Beamer) Anderson. She married Hubert Lee Strait in 1962. Doris married Charles Allen in 1985. She worked in housekeeping at Mercy Hospital and loved to go to Bingo in Hiawatha.
Survivors include her son, Greg (Lori) Strait; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
