CEDAR RAPIDS — Senior guard Brayson Laube of Marion and junior forward Derek Weisskopf of Williamsburg have been named most valuable boys’ basketball players in their respective divisions of the Wamac Conference, the league has announced.
Laube, headed to Division II Augustana (S.D.), led East Division players in scoring at 22.5 points per game. He also led the division in field goals made per game and 3-pointers made per game, finishing fifth in assists.
Weisskopf, a University of Iowa football recruit, is West Division MVP for the second year in a row. He averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists, all of which led the division.
