Dan Wickenkamp
Dan Wickenkamp
Coralville
Dr. Dan Wickenkamp died Jan. 21, 2023. He was born May 28, 1959, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Donald and Ingrid Wickenkamp. Dan grew up in Marion, Iowa, and Quebec. Shortly after high school, Dan toured the country playing guitar and singing in traveling bands. He later served proudly in the Marine Corps. He then became a master of Tae Kwon Do and worked construction in Iowa. Following an injury he sustained while breaking a horse, chiropractic care healed him, leading him to become a chiropractor. For a few years he had his own practice in Coralville. While at Palmer College of Chiropractic, he met and eventually married Kelly Maya. They had a daughter, Tula.
Dan spent the last years of his life with his partner, Peggy Vesely, sharing an abiding love. He is survived by his brothers, Dave, Steve, and Greg; father, Donald; mother, Ingrid, ex-wife, Kelly; daughter, Tula, and partner, Peggy. Dan read nonfiction voraciously and loved fishing, playing guitar, and raising hell. He was a warrior of his own making, and lived many full lives.
