Ilene Marie Otto, 76, of Maynard, Iowa, caught the westbound train on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at Allen Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Ilene was born on Sept. 15, 1946, to Donald and Beulah (Pollock) Bremer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles Otto, a marriage that lasted 47 years until her death. Ilene was mother to Timmy, Tommy, Donna, Dan, Dawn, Dean, Laurie and Chrissy.
Throughout her career she worked many jobs at Rockwell Collins, Norand and Iowa Ham.
Ilene was famous for her pea salad. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, playing cards, camping and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Ilene’s memory are her husband, Charles Otto; children, Donna Wullner, Dan Campbell, Dawn Bloem, Dean Otto, Laurie (Mike) Craig and Chrissy Goltz; grandchildren, Ryan, Freddie and Raylene, Anthony, Andrew and Alex, Cameron, Mercedes, Maysea, Mikayla and Mia, Brianna, Nathan, Sierra and Alaynah; many great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Wanda Holley; her niece and nephew; as well as her beloved dogs, Bandit and Daisy.
Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Beulah; and by her beloved sons, Timmy and Tommy.
