Michael Edward Kane, 86, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. Following Michael’s wishes there will be no services. He has gifted his body to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy for clinical research. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Rose of Cedar Rapids; son, Tim (Sally) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Christine Epstein of Oak Park, Calif.; stepdaughter, Sandra Leigh of Cedar Rapids.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his late wife, Joan; son, Chris; and daughter, Michele.
Michael was born March 16, 1936, in Cedar Rapids to Edward and Marjorie Kane. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. In 1956 he married Joan Smith. To this marriage, two sons, Timothy, Chris, and daughter, Michele were born. Joan passed away in 1969. In July of 1971, Michael married Rose Marie Miller. After their retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Florida. Michael was employed by Rockwell Collins for 38 years, retiring in 1993.
The family would like to acknowledge all of our wonderful friends at the Villas at Stoney Point for their outpouring of love during this difficult time.
