Betty Jean (Winston) Herb, 78, passed away at the Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Moose Lodge, 1820 W. Post Rd., SW, Cedar Rapids.
Betty was born on July 23, 1944, in Quincy, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Bryant and Ice Marie (Setters) Winston. On March 25, 1985, Betty married Donald K. Herb, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Betty loved spending time with her friends at the Moose Lodge, enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory is her daughter, Tina (Chuck) James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her step-daughters, Amy (Jim) Christianson, of Anamosa, Iowa, and Deann (Bret) MacAtee; her brother, William Winston, of Loraine, Ill.; her grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, David, Dana, Douglas, Emily and Olivia; her great-grandchildren, James (JJ), Nolan and Zayden; a nephew, Aaron Winston (USN); and a special friend of 66 years, Sharon Kundert of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and her parents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Northbrook Manor Care Center for the love and support they showed Betty while she was in their care.
