Harlan Otto William Doehrmann was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Martin and Ida Dorothea (Glandorf) Doehrmann. He was baptized on Jan. 10, 1932, and confirmed on June 2, 1946, all at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1950. He was a parks commissioner-ranger for 25 years in Linn County. He was also the park ranger for Mattzel, Flying Squirrel and Wapsipinicon Ridge Parks. He enjoyed his encounters with folks at the various parks he worked at and taking courses on guns. Harlan was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marion, where he served as an usher. Harlan Died on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his sister, Elda Keller of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lora Imhoff and Selma Hagen; his brother, Loren Doehrmann; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Keller.
Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
