Terry Lynn Morgan, 64, of Rowley, Iowa, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at his home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Terry was born May 9, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Gladys (Reid) Morgan. He graduated from Center Point High School, Class of 1976. Terry went on to attend Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where he played football and was a walk-on for baseball. He was united in marriage to Tracie Ann Hunter on April 25, 1980, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Terry worked 10 years in construction and then at Quaker Oats for 29 years until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of RWDSU Local 110. Terry was an excellent carpenter and built his family home in Center Point where he and Tracie raised their family. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and going fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Tracie Morgan of Rowley; children, Traer (Amanda) Morgan of Center Point and Erin (Mike) Upah of Mechanicsville, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Nick, Amelia, Brynn, Jesse, Hank, Chloe and Josie; sister, Bonnie McMann of Center Point; and brother, Dennis (Cynde) Morgan of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Gladys Morgan; grandson, Michael James Upah; brother, Larry Morgan; and a sister in infancy, Donna Morgan.
