Novella M. Cunningham, 94, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at Bickford Cottage Assisted Living, Marion.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Novella’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Terry (Deb Twachtman) of Cedar Rapids, Jerry (June) of Marion and James (Rebecca) of Matthews, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Gary) Goodlove of Palo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William Cunningham, and siblings, Imogene Snell, Lyle Winch, Martin Winch and Merle Winch.
Novella M. Winch was born May 26, 1928, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Teresa (LeClere) Winch. On June 10, 1946, she married James Cunningham in Iowa City, Iowa. James died Feb. 2, 2013. She was a collector of all things, an avid shopper and loved to get a bargain. Novella enjoyed travelling as a Navy wife and raising her four boys. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to especially thank the entire staff at Bickford Cottage for the love and support given to Novella during her time there.
Memorials may be given in her name to the First United Methodist Church, 5050 Rec Drive, Marion, IA 52302.
