Laverne Messer, 79, of Wayland, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Laverne is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Roni Messer of Cedar Rapids, Jodi Pelkowski of Derby, Kan., and Marc Messer of Williamsburg; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; mother, Betty Messer; and three brothers, Gene Messer, Gary Messer, all of Wayland, and Dan Messer of Washington.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery near Wayland. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A Masonic service and Eastern Star service will begin at 7 p.m.
