Heaven gained an amazing soul, Charles Richard Swarzentruber, on Jan. 21, 2023, one week shy of his 86th birthday. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is at a later date.

Dick, formerly of Cedar Rapids, is survived by five children, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.

Dick was president of Vigertone Ag. Products, a licensed massage therapist, worked with assisted living adults, and played Santa Claus for five years.

We are relieved that you are at peace from your Galant fight from cancer. Life will not be same without you here. We are better people today because of your love, kindness, wisdom, advice, encouragement, support, understanding and nonjudgment. You were a bright light in our lives which will be a little dimmer now. Spending time with his family, friends, golfing and playing Santa were his greatest enjoyments in life!! He shared his love and knowledge of golf with anyone who wanted to learn, he was a patient teacher!! No more bad games!! We would give any and everything to have you back and hear your voice one last time!! (hellooo) You were loved by all, we will carry that love until we meet again. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

In lieu of memorials, go play a round of golf for him.
