Gerald “Jerry” Lloyd Alderson, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Palo Community Center, located at 2800 Hollenbeck Rd., Palo, IA 52324. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring or Gerald his arrangements.
Gerald was born Nov. 22, 1939, the son of Lloyd and Margaret (Edmonds) Alderson. Gerald served in the U.S. Army from 1962-64. He worked at PMX for over 25 years. Gerald enjoyed gardening, playing cards, viewing wildlife from his backyard window and spending time with his family and friends.
Gerald is survived by his son, Sean (Shelly) Alderson; four grandchildren, Marissa, Miranda, Jesse and Jerod; and two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Alderson; wife, Constance; and daughter, Monica.
