Ruby K. Mosier, 96, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Ruby was born June 29, 1926, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Katherine (Walter) Henny. She was united in marriage to Vernon Lloyd Mosier in 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa. Ruby worked in food service at K-Mart for over 29 years until her retirement in March 1988. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Ruby enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and preparing Amana-style dinners. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and attending their activities. Ruby also found joy in traveling with her close friends on extended vacations.
Survivors include her children, Joseph Mosier and Vicki (Bruce) Benning; grandchildren, Tim (Beth) Mosier, Briana (Martin) Barclay and Brandon (Bree) Benning; great-grandchildren, Riley Mosier, Payton Mosier, Tripp, Finn and Sage Barclay, Frankie and Ruby Benning; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Katherine Henny; husband, Vernon Mosier; and brothers, Vernon (Betty) Henny and Dean (Beverly) Henny.
