Mary Kay Zimmerman, 84, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 20, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Friends of St. Bridget’s.
Mary Kay was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of John and Edna (Mahoney) Zimmerman. She was a 1957 graduate of West Branch High School. Mary Kay was employed at UIHC where she worked in the dietary department for 40 years.She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church and loved the weekly lunch outings with her sisters and visits with her brothers, Bob and Doc.
Mary Kay is survived by her siblings, John “Doc” (Doreen) Zimmerman, Bob Zimmerman (Jolene), Sandra Kugel, Patricia Leskanich, Sharon (Bill) Braddock, Sue (Bob) Randall and Don Zimmerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Cindy Hickey; infant sister, Judy; sister-in-law, Pat; brothers-in-law, Ed Kugel, Gary Leskanich and Ken Hickey, her nephew, Ryan; and good friend, Jackie Grady.
