The Villages, Fla.
Lee Spicher, born Loren Lee Spicher, was born on Feb. 13, 1936, in Kalona, Iowa. Lee passed away Dec. 14, 2022, in The Villages, Fla. Lee married Yvonne Kallaus July 26, 1955, and the couple had five children together. Lee later married for a second time to Judi O’Connor on Aug. 8, 1988. The couple moved to Florida in 2001, where Lee finished out his career in appraisals before retiring.
Lee was preceded in death by his siblings, Ron (Eileen) Spicher, Dean (Liz) Spicher and Raymond (Diane) Spicher; his mother, Velma Spicher; and his aunt, Irma Gingerich.
Lee is survived by his wife, Judi; his sister, Joyce Craig; his children, Julie (Rob) Schladetzky, Casey (Pam) Spicher, Lori (Shawn) Spicher, Cary Spicher and Greg (Laurie) Spicher; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lee was a graduate of Kalona High School. Lee and Yvonne raised their children living in both Texas and Iowa. Lee was an avid football fan and very often could be found on the field as a referee or coach. After marrying Judi, the couple remained in Iowa for a time but ultimately moved to Florida to enjoy the relaxed pace of retirement and access to golf year-round.
No service is planned at this time at Lee’s request. The Spicher family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
