Jerry Peter Sunderman, 62, of Robins, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at his home. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Epic Event Center, 2987 Epic Dr., Marion.

Jerry was born on Nov. 26, 1960, in Silver Bay, Minn., the son of Joseph and Grace (Kreason) Sunderman. He was a 1979 graduate of Pacelli High School. On March 8, 1980, Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Rasmussen in Austin, Minn. Jerry owned and operated Sunderman Construction for 30-plus years and along with his family owned and operated Epic Event Center. Jerry enjoyed following the Hawkeyes and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Karen Sunderman of Robins; son, Ryan (Nikki) Sunderman of Marion; daughter, Jami (Scott) Rosekrans of Robins; grandchildren, Tenley and Treyson Rosekrans and Ayla and Jordyn Sunderman; siblings, Peggy (Tom) Leonard, Bonnie (Denny) Laug, Mary Jo (Larry) Sutherland, Norma (Alan) Otto, Linda (Karen) Sunderman, Joe (Teri) Sunderman, Larry (Janet) Sunderman and Paula Parker; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry’s memory may be directed to the Hall Perrine Cancer Center or the Dennis & Donna Hospice House of Mercy.
