Clara M. Lint, 90, of Marengo, formerly of Shellsburg, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, in Marengo. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at the Marengo American Legion, 1240 Lafayette Ave., Marengo. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg. Memorials may be contributed to the American Cancer Society. Clara and her family are in the care of Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Diana (Lowell) Stone of Grinnell and Marjorie (Rich) Walker of Victor; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Hazel Rublack of Vinton; and a son-in-law, Rich Fry of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; a son, Roger; a daughter, Sharon Fry; her parents; a great-grandson, Drew; six brothers and six sisters.
Clara Mardell Zahn was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Vinton, the daughter of John Oliver and Verna Marie (Rambo) Zahn. She received her education in the Shellsburg Community School District. Clara was united in marriage to Earl Stanley Lint on May 30, 1947, at Foursquare Church in Cedar Rapids. Clara was employed at Wilson Foods, now Farmstead, in Cedar Rapids, for many years, retiring from there. She enjoyed going fishing, gardening and bowling. Clara will be missed who all who knew and loved her.
