Sharon Kay Bruner, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Jan. 10, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sharon Kay was born on Feb. 2, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Jay and Pearl Cleo (Carey) Walker. She started working at Collins Radio in 1963 and retired from Rockwell Collins in 1999. Sharon loved to read. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and Wii bowling.
Survivors include her sons, Steven (Erin) Bruner and James Bruner, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Lauren, Emma and Ethan; and sisters, Shirley Bradford, Margie Shmeidescamp and Patty Walker.
Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings, Dolores Holtz and Charlotte Louise Walker.
