Donald C. “Rasty” Elliott, 102, of Norway, Iowa, passed away Jan. 2, 2023, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Donald was born to Charles and Agnes (Brown) Elliott on Dec. 26, 1920. Don graduated from Norway High School. Then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his service, he returned to Norway and joined his father in becoming a barber and running a barber shop in Norway for many years. On Jan. 23, 1943, Donald married Dorothy Laird in Joplin, Mo.
In his youth, he enjoyed mushroom hunting, trapping and watching his son play baseball.
Donald is survived by his son, Max (Julie) Elliott; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Dorothy Elliott (2015).
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Norway, Iowa, with military honors. Online condolences can be sent to www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
