Cedar Rapids man faces five charges following Thursday stabbing
The victim suffered a non-life-threatening wound

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Thursday on charges he stabbed another man in the back.
Michael Chevalier, 33, is charged with attempt to commit murder, willful injury resulting in serious injury, going armed with intent, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.
Cedar Rapids police responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of B Avenue and 29th Street NE at 12:14 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the department.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a 37-year-old man with a stab wound to his back. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, according to the release.
Chevalier was arrested following an investigation. He was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center in Cedar Rapids.
