Plenty still care about Jan. 6

I read with astonishment Erin Murphy's article about Iowa's delegation of elected officials on the referrals from the Jan. 6 Committee. Of course Iowans are concerned about all of the issues facing our country. However, to suggest that no one cares about the Trump referrals is partisan propaganda.
I care if our former president incited a riot that disrupted Congress, destroyed property and injured & killed people. I care that he repeatedly lied) about our free and fair elections.
If the Jan. 6 insurrection was much ado about nothing, why did our elected officials in Congress run when the mob showed up? If lying about elections will be the new norm, how many elected officials could be affected in 2024? Could their families be threatened at work, at home, their children & grandchildren at school? Would they expect a bipartisan denial of lies and threats against themselves or will they just stuff it off? Will the religious right still be willing to sell their souls for right wing judges, even though Donald Trump and the GOP have run counter to everything that Jesus preached?
It amazes me how fickle the GOP has been in their cozying up to Trump. I understand that Iowa has become a giant red light in the country, but will our representatives again shrink from decency and lies to avoid being humiliated by Trump and receiving backing from the money people of the GOP?
Just for your information, I do care.
