Sheryl Marie Pazour, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at her home Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022. A celebration of her life for her family will be held at a later date. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.
Sheryl is survived by her significant other, Jim Usher; her siblings, Mike Pazour, Cedar Rapids, Deb (Bill) Law, Solon, and Doreen Cook, Cedar Rapids; nephews and niece, Michael, Derek, Tim and Elissa; brother-in-law, Tim Hangartner, Florida; godmother, Cheryl; close friends, Nancy and Kim; and last but not least, Sheryl’s special furbabies, Chip and Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille (Riha) Pazour; brother, Tom; and twin-sister, Sharon Hangartner.
Sheryl was born July 30, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, and lived here most of her life except for a yearlong stay with Sharon in the Minneapolis area. She was a 1984 graduate of Jefferson High School. She had been employed at Kirkwood Community College.
Sheryl loved dogwalking, swimming, listening to music and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid Cedar Rapids Kernels fan, as well as the Chicago Cubs and the Minnesota Twins. Sheryl loved to watch “Saturday Night Live” and football games on television.
Sheryl essentially died of a broken heart following the unexpected death of her sister, Sharon, in 2020. As Sheryl would always say, “tak i tak.”
A memorial fund has been established and donations may be directed to her family.
Online condolences may be left for the family at wwwpapich-kubafs.com under “obituaries.”
