Charles “Chuck” A. Prucha, 71, of Soldiers Grove and Prairie du Chien, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at Soldiers Grove Health Services. In accordance with Chuck’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. He will be buried beside his parents at the Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Kendall Funeral Service, Boscobel, Wis., and Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, are assisting with Chuck’s final arrangements.
Charles Alvin Prucha was born Sept. 9, 1951 in Des Moines, the son of Alvin and Evelyn (Christle) Prucha. He lived in Cedar Rapids until moving to Prairie du Chien with his parents in 1970. Although having lifelong challenges with different abilities, Chuck worked at the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien for 35 years.
He was a true Wisconsin Badgers fan, supported the Milwaukee Brewers, was loyal to the Iowa State University football team, his father’s alma mater, but definitely “NOT” the Packers.
Chuck is survived by his cousins, Donna Banks, Christine Miller and Pat, Tom and Dave Ridout. He is also survived by his extended family, Debra and Mike Martin, Prairie du Chien, Devan Toberman, and his extended nephews, Gaige, Brant and Brecken, all of Prairie du Chien.
