Diane Kay Voss, 73, of Marion passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Diane is survived by her children, Stacy Garringer of Marion, Jill Voss of Atkins, and James (Kari) Voss of Shellsburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dawn (Larry) Bender of Cedar Rapids, Dorothy Workman of Hiawatha, Dennis Shakespeare of Shellsburg, Debbie (Tracy) Langguth of Cedar Rapids, Donna (Larry) Franz of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mary Lou Shakespeare; and many nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, George’ and the father of her children, Daniel Voss.
Diane was born on Aug. 15, 1949, the daughter of George Bennett and Mary Lou (Comp) Shakespeare in Cedar Rapids. She attended and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967 and went on to become the secretary for the teacher’s union for over 20 years, retiring in 2014.
Diane loved to fish and play games like bingo. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
