Shirley A. (Biley) Stolba, 91 of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Burial to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Shirley was born July 4, 1931, the daughter of Louis and Viola (Hagge) Biley in Tama County, Iowa. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. Shirley was united in marriage to William “Bill” Stolba on Sept. 11, 1949. Shirley was the wife of an Army Air Corps Mechanic until 1956 when they went into farming while raising their three boys. She enjoyed her daily puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, cooking shows, her family and so much more.
Left to cherish her memories include her three children, Terry Stolba of Marion, Iowa, Alan Stolba of Solon, Iowa, and William Stolba Jr. of Texas; five grandchildren, Vicki (Scott) Golden, Jeff Stolba, Jason (Laura) Stolba, Mysti (Jeremy) Edmunds and Travis (Katie) Stolba; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and two due in 2023; and a brother, Larry Biley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; a brother, Roger; sisters-in-law, Faye Ethel (Stolba) Bridge, Karen Biley and Jannette Biley; and brothers-in-law, James Stolba and LaForest Bridge.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Mercy Medical Center and all their staff as well as Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House for keeping Shirley comfortable.
