David Allan Siver, 75, of Mechanicsville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022. A Celebration of Life with burial at White Oak Cemetery is anticipated in the spring. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Service, Mount Vernon.
Survivors include his wife, Janette; children, Trever (Kristen) Siver, Teressia (Nick) Boren and Susanne (Jim) Zaruba; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kenzie, Noah, Ivy, Shea, Tess, Hallie and Sydney (Tyler); and siblings, Rita (Steve) Becker and Howard Siver (Beth).
Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Lucille Dlouhy; brother-in-law, Allen (Nancy) Dlouhy; sister-in-law, Connie (Roy) Brockmeyer; special friends, Bill and Sheri Young; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lollie.
David was born on Nov. 10, 1947, the son of Floyd and Jacqueline (Kinler) Siver. He graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Hawkeye Community College. On Oct. 24, 1976, he married Janette Dlouhy in Mount Vernon. David was a truck driver for many years, but being on the farm was his true passion. He loved farming, fishing and restoring tractors, especially Farmall’s. Being with his family and playing with his grandchildren made him the happiest. David never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting new people, having conversations and telling lots of stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Leonard Dlouhy.
