Janola Ann Boots, 93, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away in the hands of God. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Pastor Rich Balvanz. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Janola was born June 9, 1929, as a gift on her mother’s birthday, in Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of August and Lydia (Frese) Eichmann. She was baptized July 7, 1929, in her parent’s home. Janola graduated from Tripoli High School on May 16, 1947. Janola was a loving homemaker who worked at Tripoli Canning Company in corn and poultry. On Sept. 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Clarence R. Stephenson. He later passed away unexpectedly in an accident on April 24, 1964. Janola married Ray E. Boots on June 29, 1974, in Center Point at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Center Point United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, August (Deb) Stephenson and Allen (Denise “Cocoa”) Stephenson, all of Robins, Iowa, Ann Glass of Cedar Rapids, and Amy (Bob) Squires of Center Point; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Janola was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and a sister; her two husbands; daughter-in-law, Sandra Stephenson; and son-in-law, Bill Butterfield.
