Naomi J. Stepanek, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Sharon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Nick Grove. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Ragheb) Al-Muhawish of Cedar Rapids, and her son, Craig (Michelle) Stepanek of Vinton, her grandchildren, Brent (Jasmin) Stepanek of Ely, Iowa, and Aston Kemp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her great-grandchildren, Blaine Stepanek, Mia Stepanek and Boston Stepanek; a sister, Etta Cuppy of Davenport, Iowa; and her brother, Mickey Michael of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Derald Stepanek.
Naomi was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Moberly, Mo. the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Baker) Piper. She married Derald Lee Stepanek on July 16, 1950, in Corydon, Iowa. Naomi was a medical tech for St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Naomi was a pastor at St. Luke’s and New Creation Church. Her passion was art and was a very talented artist.
