How to write a letter
Letter writing can be a fun way to practice handwriting, learn how to spell and construct sentences

Dec. 12, 2022 12:38 pm
As the end of 2022 approaches, many people enjoy sending holiday cards with a heartfelt message as a personal gift, show their appreciation to the person receiving the card, and to reflect on the joys of the last year.
Letter writing also can be a fun way to practice handwriting, learn how to spell new words, and construct sentences.
A letter includes a greeting, a body or message, closing and signature where you write your name. Take your time and write clearly, so the person you’re writing to can read your letter.
First, think about who you want to write to. Is it a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle or friend? Begin with a greeting like “Hello!” or “Dear” in front of their name.
There are no rules about what to include in a letter! Think about what you want to share with the person you’re writing to. Do you want to tell them about your favorite project or subject in school? A hobby or sport you’re involved in? Write about a topic the recipient of the letter would be interested in.
Ask about the person you’re writing to and finish with a warm sign off such as “Love” or “Best” or “happy holidays.”
Don’t forget to sign the letter with your name at the bottom, so the person receiving the letter knows who it’s from.
