James “Jim” Boyd, 68, died Thursday Dec. 8, 2022, at UIHC following a lengthy illness.
Family and friends will celebrate Jim’s life from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the family home in Tipton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Souix Boyd in memory of Jim.
Jim was born on April 26, 1954, in Kankakee, Ill., the son of Robert and Fern (Collectt) Boyd. On June 27, 1981, Jim married Opal Durham Landereth. They had celebrated 38 years of marriage. Jim was a hard working man who loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Souix; sons, Larry Buhr Jr. (Tanya Myers), Jim Boyd Jr. and Christopher; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Boyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph; and his brothers, Jesse and William “Bill.”
