Child care screw-up doesn’t hurt Reynolds’ friends
Dec. 11, 2022 7:00 am
I don't hobnob Kim Reynold's social circle; but I'm willing to bet that lot doesn't need help affording child care services. Odds are those buddies aren't evening displaying middle-class miff at Kim blowing off $30 million in child care aid from the federal government. But, it does strike me that if Reynolds and her fellow Republicans expect Iowan maidens to carry out their mandatory child-baring duties — unobstructed or unrelieved by therapeutic pregnancy terminations — they might consider easing their burden by addressing this vital need for child care with something more than good wishes.
Maybe the governor and her wealthy friends can pass the hat around. Consider soliciting the NRA for whom Kim has done many favors. How about Donald Trump, that noted philanthropist, whom Reynolds has long admired? What about going back to the Democratic administration and ask for that money back — the money that Iowans are entitled to.
