Michael Glenn Fosdick, 63, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. A luncheon will be served in the church basement (Scotus Hall) immediately following burial. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.
Michael was born July 2, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leonard and Dolores (West) Fosdick. He graduated from Regis High School. Michael honorably served in the United States Navy from 1984 to 1985. He lived the remainder of his life as a disabled Navy veteran. He enjoyed gambling, fishing, bowling, and golf. Michael loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, as well as the Hawkeyes. Michael enjoyed spending time with his siblings and taking trips with them, as well as spending time with his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his siblings, Michele (Jerry) Westrope of Salem, S.C., Anita (Michael) Robledo of Diamond Bar, Calif., John (Connie) Fosdick and James (Janet) Fosdick, all of Cedar Rapids; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Steve and Jean Etten and Mark Bennett.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Fosdick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids or a charity of the donor’s choice.
