Edwin O. Olson, 94, passed away at his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. with the Certified Celebrant, Randy Walton officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of the Last Supper.
Ed was born on July 31, 1928, in rural Waukon, Iowa. He was the son of the late Stanley A. and Thelma A. (Anfinson) Olson. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. In his early years, Ed enjoyed motorcycling and boating. He worked as a lab technician for Borden Ice Cream Company from 1953 to 1980, first in Cedar Rapids, then in Mason City.
Those left to cherish Ed’s memory are his sister, Clarice Kubasa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three nephews Gary Dundee Sr., Loren Dundee and Karl Kubasa; one niece, Lou Ann Dundee; four great-nephews and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Miranda Dundee, Tennis Olson and Charlotte Olson; and a niece, Kathy Kubasa.
