Karen Margaret Volesky, 78, of Independence, formerly of Swisher, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
Karen was born in Cresco, Iowa, on Nov. 13, 1944, to Edward and Margaret (Carstensen) Shields. She married William Volesky on May 7, 1966. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband Bill after their retirement.
Karen is survived by her children, Lori (Mark) Huenefeld, Jeff Volesky and Steve (Julie) Volesky; six grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Lentner. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; son Brian; and great-granddaughter, Skylar.
