Casino backers gamble with campaign cash

Cedar Rapids casino backers got their bidder’s number by registering their PAC. Now they can join the auction of legislators. They hope to outbid Dan Kehl of Riverside in the bidding war for votes.
And members of the golden dome of wisdom, Democrats and Republicans, are happy to line their campaign coffers with the cash that skews democracy. It’s all legal in a system that ignores the founding precepts of representative government. They doubt that voters care.
