Joanne L. Svec, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Nov. 18, 2022. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment will immediately follow.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Deb Serbousek; grandchildren, Jeffrey Serbousek and Matthew (Hillary) Serbousek; great-grandchildren, Brayley, Emreigh and Wattney Serbousek; a sister, Dorothy (Don) Ciha; sisters-in-law, Virginia Svec and Louellen Svec; brother-in-law, Daryl Gladwin; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Melvin; daughter, Julie Svec; parents, Lance and Maxine Morehouse; nephews, Jeff Ciha, Greg Ciha and Bob Svec.
Joanne’s family and faith were her most important treasures. She was a longtime Sears employee. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with people, shopping and square dancing. She loved her pets.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Cedar valley Humane Society.
