Iowa State vs. Texas Tech predictions
Line — Iowa State -3.5
Mike Hlas — Things I happily do outdoors when it’s 7 degrees don’t include attending a college football game. Or anything else. Iowa State 14, Texas Tech 7
John Steppe — Last year, I got a commemorative box of Cheez-Its after covering the Cheez-It Bowl. Now that the Citrus Bowl will be the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, does that mean they’ll give out citrus-flavored Cheez-Its? Iowa State 34, Texas Tech 31
Jeff Johnson — I really wish I would have picked just about every Iowa State game to be a Cyclones loss by seven points or less. Texas Tech 21, Iowa State 20
Rob Gray — The Red Raiders are one of the top teams in the country in terms of tempo and if the Cyclones are the top team they’ll have to continue to be one of the best defenses in third-down situations. On a cold and dank night in Ames, that’s likely to occur unless ISU’s offense self destructs again. Iowa State 30, Texas Tech 21
Beth Malicki — I met a woman this week who works from 6 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon in manufacturing. She’s a single mom living in southwest Cedar Rapids with her non-verbal son who has autism. This woman and I are the same age. She said she’s struggling to make ends meet and it’s getting harder to feed her growing son. But the word she kept using was “grateful.” I want to be more like Selene Williams. To work hard to support my family but no matter what the day brings, to be thankful I’m here to experience it. Happy Turkey Day all. Remember what matters. Iowa State 31, Texas Tech 28
Todd Brommelkamp — Senior Night under the lights. What could possibly go wrong in a season where so much has? Iowa State 23, Texas Tech 18
