Terry M. Quinn, 88, of Coralville, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from complications of pneumonia and vascular dementia.
Terrance Maloy Quinn was born March 17, 1934, in Clay Center, Kan., to Maloy and Lois Quinn. He graduated from Clay County Community Schools in 1952. He attended Kansas State University before enlisting in the U.S. Army active duty. He returned to Kansas State to finish his education, graduating in 1960. In 1964, he married Marion Carlson of Clear Lake, Iowa.
Terry originally was employed by American Salt Corporation as a salesman before changing to the oil industry. He was employed by various corporations in a variety of capacities including territory manager for Sun Oil, sales manager for Petroleum Equipment Manufacturer and, most recently, retiring in 1999 from a private oil and gas distributor in Wisconsin. During this time, numerous moves occurred including Iowa City, Milwaukee, Wis., Fon du Lac, Wis., Dixon, Ill., Marion, Iowa, Dubuque, Iowa, and Appleton, Wis., before returning to Iowa City after retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; son, Bradley and family of North Liberty, Iowa. Also surviving are his sister, Sue Faubion of Denver, Colo.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Pat Quinn of Washington, D.C.
