Grateful for quality Gazette content
Nov. 12, 2022 7:00 am
As usual, I am behind on my Gazette reading but ever grateful for the quality content when I do sit down to read.
In particular:
I read Brittney J. Miller's articles (Nov. 6) on the Cedar River TMDL, highlighted, check-marked, and submitted a public comment. Thank you to Brittney and The Gazette for the thorough reporting.
I read Althea Cole's "Election denial doesn't deserve your attention" (Nov. 6) and feel deeply grateful for its candid and thorough details on a topic that was never a topic until it became a topic. Kooky and crap are refreshing words to identify what is mind-bendingly real and unreal. "Trust but verify." Thank you Althea. No one has written so well (in my mind) on this topic to date.
“Taunts and fear are final GOP message” (Nov. 6). What broke through to me from this column was the repetition (think Walt Whitman) of "I'm out of touch with people …" A refrain of uplift for me. A "come to Jesus" moment. A "it takes a village" moment. I'm out of touch with people whose empathy for life beyond their own noses has vanished. Maybe forever.
Thank you all for keeping the light on.
